End of year can be filled with back-to-back gatherings, shopping trips and endless to-do lists that sometimes cloud the reason why we celebrate Christmas to begin with.
So, we hope you find our three-part Christmas devotion series helpful in refocusing on the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ in the lead up to December 25.
There are three topics to explore, each topic includes a five-day reading plan via YouVersion, or you can subscribe to Real Hope – the Podcast on your preferred platform to listen along.
As you try to find peace and rest at the end of another year that has, no doubt for many, also brought weariness, loneliness and more uncertainty, our prayer for our Salt 106.5 community is that everyone experiences the love of God in sending his Son:
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace,” – Isaiah 9:6
Let us all “adore Him”!

O Come Let Us Adore Him
Every year, during the Christmas season (and at times outside of the season), Christmas carols can be heard on high rotation in shopping centres, on the radio, in homes, and in churches. Songs that are so familiar that friends and family who are not Christians still know the lyrics and the melodies. These Christmas carols have become so familiar in society that sometimes it can seem like we are singing them by rote, forgetting the message of the Gospel that inspired the words we are singing. We hope in this plan, you have time to reflect on the lyrics of these songs that bring joy, hope, and life in Christ.

Real Hope: The Jesus Genealogy – What’s the Point?
In this series, Bob Mendelsohn, national director of Jews for Jesus here in Australia, opens God’s Word to us from a very unlikely source, the genealogy of Jesus, as shown in the first chapter of Matthew. You don’t have to be a Bible scholar to appreciate the stories that unfold. You just must enjoy the story itself. Don’t we all love a good story? Whether in the form of a movie or a great novel… Matthew understands that. Each reference conjures up images and dialogue, mostly a story. Let’s see where those stories take us and learn what God has to say to us as 21st-century people.

Real Hope: The Birth of Our Saviour King
Our Saviour King came into this world not riding on a horse, surrounded by an army, wearing armor, or crowned with a golden crown. No, our Saviour came into the world as a baby, unexpected, unannounced, and unexceptionally. We hope that through this plan, as you reflect on the meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ, you’ll be reminded that Christmas isn’t just an event in history to be remembered.
