With a heart to pray for those working within the media and arts internationally, Christians around the world will unite to pray this Sunday.
It’s the first of its kind, and marks a special moment in history, as believers of all denominations across the world, unite for 24 hours of prayer – for the media, arts and entertainment industries.
This inaugural event is a united initiative of four Christian organisations representing the media and arts in the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand: Hollywood Prayer Network, Christians in Media UK, Christian Media and Arts Australia and Christian Broadcasting Association NZ.
The idea for this prayer event was born out of a shared vision to support people working in both the religious and secular media, and to see God’s spirit moving and working in these sectors.
With a heart to pray for those working within the media and arts internationally, Christians around the world will unite to pray this Sunday.
“As Christians we feel called to stand for truth, integrity and justice in a world crying out for God’s love, grace and compassion,” says the event website.
“Media impacts all our lives… from east to west, as the sun rises to greet the new day, we will pray.”
How does it work?
The 24-hour day of prayer will take place over livestream, involving hosts from around the world taking turns to lead the prayer gathering.
Guest speakers will represent the diverse media arena from across the globe, sharing messages to encourage and inspire our prayers.
What will we be praying for?
Some of the areas we will be praying for include:
- The people behind the profession, for support in the challenges they face
- For church media teams and for positive relationships between church and the media
- For local, regional, national and social media – both secular and Christian
- For the media to give a voice to the voiceless and to be held to account
- For Christians in media to hold firm to Biblical beliefs and convictions, courageously presenting the truth with integrity, without bias or agenda
The day of prayer is open to anyone who wants to pray for media and the arts.
