If you’ve ever been supported – or if you’ve witnessed someone else being supported – in their mental health, now is your chance to nominate them!

The Queensland Mental Health Week Achievement Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of individuals, groups and organisations who work to reduce stigma and empower those living with mental illness. And in particular, those who work directly with people who are affected by mental health issues.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson famously said, “I found that with depression, one of the most important things you can realise is that you’re not alone. You’re not the first to go through it, you’re not gonna be the last to go through it.” Despite this, suffering from a mental illness can feel extremely isolating. Which is why this is a wonderful opportunity to say “thank you” to those who have cared for you during difficult times.

Mental health support is often accessed through grassroots organisations, and this is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge just how profound and significant their dedication and effort is.

Winners will be recognised at a ceremony in Brisbane on Friday 11 October, during Queensland Mental Health Week.

Nominations close on 19 July 2024.
