Two in five young Australians struggle with their mental health in fact, over the past year, headspace’s online communities were used more than 110,000 times and ran 153 peer chats to access support through headspace’s Peer Support Moderators on navigating relationships, coping with tough times, work and study.
With donations essential to headspace to provide much-needed mental health support to young people, it’s time for Aussies to put their bowling shoes on, get their putting practice in, and warm up their vocal cords for Funlab’s annual Day of Fun. Dan Carey, Funlab Operations Manager QLD, joins Salt 106.5’s Steve D to share more about the Day of Fun and how you can get involved.
Held on September 5 this year, the day sees activities across popular venues reduce to a flat rate of $5*, with proceeds from the day going towards participating headspace centres as well as headspace’s Online Communities, a real-time peer-led group chat service held by young people, for young people.
Holey Moley, Hijinx Hotel, Strike Bowling and Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq are some of the 40 venues Australia-wide that will have discounted activities in a bid to raise $300,000 – the largest fundraising goal yet after a successful 2022. By achieving this goal, Funlab will have raised over $1 million for headspace since 2016.
With some activities discounted more than 90% on the day, Day of Fun provides the opportunity for all Aussies to have fun, try a new activity, and raise money for a deserving cause. For Aussies looking to secure an activity on September 5, pre-booking is essential, while Archie Brothers and B.Lucky & Sons remain available for walk-ins only.
