Salt 106.5 CEO Phillip Randall celebrated for a life of sustained and outstanding contribution to the community broadcasting sector, receiving the prestigious Michael Law Award.

This year’s Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) conference, was an exciting one for the sector. Marking the 50th anniversary of both the CBAA’s formation and the birth of community broadcasting in Australia.
It was an exciting year for Salt 106.5 too, with CEO Phillip Randall receiving the final award of the night, the Michael Law Award, a prestigious award that recognises an individual who has made a sustained and outstanding contribution to the community broadcasting sector. Phillip currently serves as CEO of Hope Media, Family Radio Ltd, Sunshine Coast Christian Broadcasters Ltd and Juice Media Ltd, and previously served as CBAA President, as well as Christian Media & Arts Australia and past Station Manager of Sonshine (98five).

I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent in community broadcasting, during which I have met and worked alongside so many amazing people who are working to make a difference in their communities.”

What is the Michael Law Award?
Michael Law was the inaugural President of the Public Broadcasting Association of Australia (now known as the CBAA) in 1974.
He is recognised as one of the key founders of community broadcasting in Australia, presiding over the emergence of our diverse and innovative media sector. The Michael Law Award recognises an individual who has made a sustained and outstanding contribution to the community broadcasting sector (not bound by the current awards period).
