We’re excited to welcome Elisha Jurgensen to the Salt 106.5 family!
Key points:
- “I have a huge heart for the community, and particularly those who may be experiencing a difficult season. We all have from time to time,” Elisha said.
- Elisha has previously owned a cafe and Real Estate Agency.
- “I would love your prayer. That God would guide me daily,” she said.
Elisha comes to us with a wealth of business experience, as well as social work and community development.
Passionate about helping people and building community, Elisha has been busy getting to know the team and finding her feet.
She sat down to chat about her experience so far, and why she’s so passionate about Christian radio.
What attracted you to joining the Salt 106.5 team?
The Mission! What a fabulous tool radio is for sharing experiences of God’s love. I have a huge heart for the community, and particularly those who may be experiencing a difficult season. We all have from time to time.
I see it as a privilege to be able to encourage people and speak life and hope into people’s lives when they need it the most.
What did you get up to before joining Salt 106.5?
I have a long background in social work and community development. Some roles I have enjoyed most have been Family Therapist and Community Hub Leader.
I have a huge heart for the community, and particularly those who may be experiencing a difficult season. We all have from time to time.
Helping people achieve a sense of wellbeing and community connectedness has brought me great happiness in my work.
I also have owned a cute little café and a Real Estate Agency, so I understand the importance that small business plays in community and the challenges that come with business ownership.
What opportunities do you see for Christian media in this season?
I think in this season, Christian media has an opportunity to expand digitally while still focusing on the need for genuine community connectedness in a world where people are feeling more isolated than ever.
Addressing relevant societal issues from a perspective of God’s love and grace I think will be needed more and more looking forward, and creative storytelling is a powerful tool we can expand on to share our Hope as we look forward.

Adapting and innovating in collaboration with other Christian organisations, working towards a shared vision, could allow us to harness tools and resources we would not otherwise have access to. This is already being felt by Salt 106.5.
What do weekends look like in the Jurgensen home?
We love the outdoors, so I enjoy a walk and breakfast at one of our many great local businesses.
You will often find my husband and I with Keke, our Cavoodle, enjoying a walk on our stunning beaches or strolling through markets.
Saturday evenings are most often spent socializing with extended family and friends, but Sunday is my favourite day of the week. We love our local church and always feel refreshed after gathering with our church family.
I need people, so building a strong community for my family and I is high on my values list.
Favorite location on the Sunshine Coast?
The rocks at Kings Beach. I love looking for little sea creatures and exploring the area.
We have so many amazing places to enjoy the outdoors. The fresh air and big sky are great for my wellbeing.
“I would love your prayer. That God would guide me daily,” she said.
For me, being outside in nature is really good for stress management and an overall sense of happiness.
How can we pray for you as you step into this new chapter?
I would love your prayer. That God would guide me daily. That His will be done in this important ministry and that new doors would be open for our amazing team as we see big changes in society’s culture. That God’s great love is experienced in people’s lives right across the Sunshine Coast in new fresh ways.
I appreciate the amazing support that our team receives from our community, and I am grateful and humbled by the opportunity to serve the Sunshine Coast in this way.
