King of the Mountain Pomona
The Pomona King of the Mountain will be a two-day event for the whole family over the weekend of the 24th & 25th of July, climaxing with the King of the Mountain Challenge on Sunday the 25th, where 100 competitors run up the face of Mount Cooroora.

Maleny Handmade Markets
The Maleny Handmade Markets offer everything local, unique and quirky and will be held over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of July at Maleny Community Centre at 23 Maple Street from 8am till 3pm.
These fabulous markets give Maleny locals a place to showcase their handmade creations, their creative hobbies and to share their talents. Keen shoppers are assured of finding something totally different, totally discerning and always made with love. Over 2 days with 30+ stallholders and workshops.
Sunshine Coast Collective Markets
Sunshine Coast Collective Markets isn’t just your average market….. it is a modern-day treasure hunt! A collective of local Sunshine Coast designers, musicians, artists, foodies, creators, vintage wares and lifestyle lovers. No mass-produced or cheap imported products will be found here!!!
The intention of the market is to create a true ‘local’ market that showcases to the community and visitors the amazing talent we have here on the Sunshine Coast. Those visiting will enjoy the relaxed Sunday vibe, amazing coffee, amazing street food, a carefully edited lineup of stalls and live music from local musicians.
The Sunshine Coast Collective Markets are held at the Alex Headlands Skate Park on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 7am till 12noon and at Coolum Primary School in Barns Lane on the 4th Sunday of every month from 8am till 12noon.

Sunny Coast Baby and Kids Market
Whether you make baby and kids clothes or you just have a bunch of outgrown children’s clothing you want to offload, you’re invited to hold a stall at the next Sunny Coast Baby and Kids Market in Mountain Creek on Sunday the 25th of July from 9am-12noon at Mountain Creek Primary School.
It’s an indoor market so the weather is not a problem plus a table and chair is provided. Come along and sell your no longer needed baby and children’s clothes, shoes, toys and accessories. Stalls $40. New business and handmade stalls welcome to apply.
Sunny Coast Baby and Kids Markets are the largest indoor baby and kids markets on the coast and have been in operation for over 10 years, selling pre-loved, new and beautiful handmade items for the under 8’s. These markets are a great way to shop for affordable baby and children’s pre-loved clothing, shoes, toys, puzzles, cots, prams, high chairs, baby baths, swings, and more. They always have FREE bounty bags and FREE entertainment for the kids plus a hot food and coffee van. No ATM on-site, so they recommend bringing along cash on the day.

The Power Of Two Orchestral Performance
The Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra and the talent-filled Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra are joining together to create the largest orchestra ever to have played on the Sunshine Coast. Conducted by Adrian King, the combined power of two orchestras creates such an awe-inspiring sound, it will be hard to believe there are no amplifiers being used.
The performance will be held at St Andrew’s Anglican College on Sunday the 25th of July at 3pm. Everything will be big with this event, including the pieces being played, from Les Misérables, The Chronicles Of Narnia, Lord Of The Dance, to Jupiter from The Planets.

Ladies, oftentimes we go through seasons where we feel alone; finding it hard to connect with others and to believe we belong. Hopefully, these seasons don’t last forever and conversation, support and friendship are just around the corner.
A new group called [email protected] Cafe is now gathering in the cafe of the Goodlife Community Center in Buderim Pines Drive on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 2pm – 3.30pm, to provide a place of belonging, where women can be seen and heard. Please join us for a coffee and catch up that might just be the beginning of that new season for you and others.
The next get-together will be on Tuesday the 27th of July at 2pm near the indoor pool at the Goodlife Cafe.
Stories of Hope July
Stories of Hope will be held at the Sands Tavern on Tuesday the 27th of July starting at 7pm.
At this month’s event, we will hear the stories of two of the Sunshine Coasts’ most inspiring people. Paula Gowland will share her story of how one moment falling off her bed while hanging curtains changed her life forever. This brave wife and mother ended up spending 758 days in hospital after losing her leg above the knee then went on to face challenges supporting family members battling mental health and substance abuse issues as a result of the trauma of her accident. She will share her story of resilience and strength so that anyone going through hard times can know that there is hope on the other side.
Plus young local legend Harrison Hedges will share his story of hope against all odds. Not only living with cerebral palsy but also with epilepsy he has gone on to defy the odds pursuing his passion and starting up his own coffee shop.
Coolum Communicators Toastmasters Meeting
Coolum Communicators Toastmasters is helping Sunny Coasters to become confident communicators, public speakers, and leaders. Toastmasters has a learn-by-doing program created to help you gain the skills needed to achieve your personal and professional goals.
Come along and meet some like-minded friendly members who are all striving to improve their communication, presentation and leadership skills. We meet at North Shore Community Centre, where there is plenty of parking, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month.
The July meetings will be held on Wednesday the 14th and Wednesday the 28th of July.
The August meetings will be held on Wednesday the 11th and Wednesday the 25th of August.
The September meetings will be held on Wednesday the 8th and Wednesday the 22nd of September.

National Tree Planting Day
Plant a tree on National Tree Day and join in Australia’s largest tree-planting event on Sunday 1 August, 9am – 2pm @ Doonan Creek Environment Reserve, Verrierdale. Bring family and friends out to Doonan Creek Environment Reserve and plant native trees, shrubs and groundcovers to help create habitat for our local wildlife, creating a vital native corridor.
Activities will be running throughout the day. No need to stay the whole day, drop in when you can and you can still experience all the fun!

Seaside Showcase Concert Coolum
The Sunshine Coast Concert Band will be performing a fundraising concert at St Peters Catholic Church in Coolum Beach on Sunday the 1st of August starting at 2pm. They’ll showcase many different styles of music genres and eras including Tom Jones, Mozart, songs from Frozen, The Lion King and James Bond.
Tickets include afternoon tea and can be purchased at the door for $15 or $25 for a family. This concert is to raise funds for Chappy Mark, the Coolum State High School Chaplain.

Buderim VIEW Club August Lunch
THE Buderim VIEW Club held its annual general meeting this month and elected a new committee for 2021.
The club holds its monthly meeting/lunch on the first Wednesday of each month at Buderim Tavern. the August Luncheon will be held on Wednesday the 4th of August at the Buderim Tavern 81 Burnett Street Buderim starting at 11am.
Any women interested in heading along as a guest or joining the club are most welcome.
This is the Club’s 28th year and apart from raising money for The Smith Family’s Learning for Life students, the club is a wonderful way to enjoy friendship and take part in the local community.
Each month, a social event is held on the third Wednesday of the month.

This expo showcases the very best the Sunshine Coast has to offer its over 55 community. In fact the event has grown from strength to strength and as a result, the 2021 Expo will be held at Nambour Showgrounds, with around 100 exhibitors showcasing their services and products, live on-stage entertainment, and a great range of food on offer.

The Sunshine Coast Cubing Club meet on the first Friday of each month at 104 Nambour-Mapleton Road, Nambour Queensland starting at 6.00pm.

Art Expo 2021 Buderim
Art Expo 2021 will be held from Thursday the 12th of August to Sunday 15th August between 9am and 4pm at the Buderim Craft Cottage 5 Main Street Buderim.
Originals by The Painting Group in acrylic, oil and watercolour will be on display and available to purchase.
Entry is free, refreshments are available and we look forward to welcoming you to the Cottage and sharing our work.

The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe Performance
Noosa youngsters are using their talents in an upcoming presentation of the C.S. Lewis classic, ‘The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’ with all proceeds being donated to a not-for-profit in Zimbabwe called “The Way In” which provides food, clothing and medicine to abandoned and orphaned children in Zimbabwe.
The performances will be held at Noosa Church, 202 Eumundi Rd Noosaville on the weekend of the 14th and 15th of August.
The matinee will be held on Saturday the 14th at 2.30pm
The evening performance on Sunday the 15th at 6pm.
What an amazing opportunity to see a great show, support local talent and feed hungry tummies abroad in difficult times.
This performance is the inspiration of the students of a Noosa homeschooling co-op who want to support the tireless work of “the Way In” and have been rehearsing this play to help feed the children. There is no middle man or admin fees and all proceeds from the performances are going directly to the ‘house mothers’ who serve Zimbabwean babes.

Free Swing & Rockabilly Dance Lessons
A free 45 minute Dance Lesson will be held on the 1st & 3rd Monday night of each month in the lower hall of the Woombye School of Arts Hall.
These free introductory lessons include Slow Swing and Rockabilly and will provide the essentials of the styles to prepare you to join our regular Monday night lessons.
As a slower style, Swing is a perfect option for those who have never danced before and the FREE Swing lesson runs on the first Monday night of the month (excluding public holidays) from 7pm (Arrive at 6:45pm and bring a partner as there will be no class rotation).
Rockabilly is the perfect option for those who like pumping music and want to get moving and the FREE Rockabilly lesson runs on the third Monday night of the month (excluding public holidays) from 8pm (Arrive at 7:45pm and bring a partner as there will be no class rotation).

Horizon Festival Opening Ceremony
The Horizon Festival returns in 2021 with 10 days and nights of visual art, music, theatre, dance, words and ideas, film and creative workshops, inspired by the stories and beauty of the Sunshine Coast and you’re invited to the free opening ceremony in Cotton tree park on Friday the 27th of August starting at 5.30pm.
As the sun sets across the waters of Cotton Tree, we gather to pay our respects to the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples of the waterways, coastal plains and hinterlands of the Sunshine Coast, and open Horizon Festival 2021. Welcoming artists and audiences to the region, the ceremony will feature the Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe, the Jinibara Dance Troupe and the First Voices Choir and offer a moment to honour Country, Ancestors and the Original Storytellers and artists of this land.
Bring the family and gather around the sand circle to experience a special evening as we open the festival through song, dance, storytelling and a smoking ceremony.

Dido and Aeneas Opera
Adrian King will conduct The Sunshine Coast Choral Society & the Sunshine Coast Chamber Strings accompanied by Natasha Koch performing Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” on Sunday 29th August 2021 commencing 2 pm at the Gregson and Weight Memorial Chapel, 159 Wises Road, Buderim.
Henry Purcell’s only Opera proper, Dido and Aeneas is a magnificent example of English Baroque music that demonstrates Purcell’s masterful compositional and choral writing skill.

Bli Bli State School Chaplaincy High Tea

Nambour Orchid Society invites you to their Spring Show to be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Coronation Ave, Nambour on Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th of September. Maleny Music Festival 2021
It’s all go for the 9th Maleny Music Weekend Festival held at the Maleny Showgrounds from Friday the 3rd to Sunday the 5th of September 2021. The Maleny Music Festival is an annual 3-day music, arts, and culture festival showcasing awesome music, dancing, workshops, comedy, poetry, street theatre, stalls, food, kid programs, licenced bars & on-site camping.
This year there is a diverse programme of acoustic-based artists, spoken word performances, workshops and street entertainment. You are guaranteed an experience to remember. Food and market stalls, along with on-site camping, enhance the village atmosphere.
The Festival will be strictly an “outdoor” event featuring a large main stage plus session, workshop and open mic venues.
The event will be organized in compliance with COVID guidelines and all patrons are requested to adhere to these and to that end this is a PRE-PAID ticket event only.
Collectorama Antique Fair
Collectorama is back! The mammoth fair featuring antiques, collectables, vintage memorabilia, art & hobby ceramics and more will be held from 7am till 2pm on Saturday the 4th of September at Nambour Showgrounds 80 Coronation Avenue, Nambour.
A treasure hunter’s dream, this event is sure to delight you with its treasure troves of antiques, vintage and retro items. You never know what you will find!

Women’s Lifestyle Expo 2021
The 2021 Women’s Lifestyle Expo is going to be held on Friday 10th September at Corbould Park. There are many exciting exhibitors, entertainment and information sessions plus Fashion Parades throughout the day- and it’s all for FREE.
The Expo is an annual event for women of all ages (18-65+) by providing a range of products, services and topics for discussion, all in one central space. This is truly a unique event aimed at drawing women together to celebrate womanhood, empower, learn and share and really experience what is cutting edge for today.
The Women’s Lifestyle Expo began when a group of women had a vision of creating an event that brought together women and businesses on the Sunshine Coast. The Women’s Lifestyle Expo’s mission is to facilitate an environment where women of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds can connect, gain knowledge and become empowered.
And this year for the first time, it’s not just all about the ladies. They’re opening up our exhibits to include a Big Boys category including Men’s Health, Men’s Clothing and even Big Boy Toys.

There will be ample exhibits and a variety of free workshops.

Researching and finding everything you need to support a family member with a disability can be difficult and time-consuming. Sharon Fulwood is a mother of three children, two of whom have different disabilities. At every step of her children’s development, she has needed to research disability aids and equipment, specialty products, specialist advice and appropriate support networks for her and her children. Experiencing frustrations and a disconnect in the sector motivated Sharon to do something to help others. She has made it her mission to make it easier for Sunshine Coast families, carers and people with disabilities to find the support, services and products to help them improve their quality of life. She wanted to create an event to connect businesses and networks within the disability sector together with these families and carers. This is how the Disability Expo Sunshine Coast idea was born and has now become a reality.
