Salt 106.5 Volunteers are some of the nicest people you will ever meet! Their valuable assistance contributes largely to the success of our Open Days and Fundraising Appeals.

As a community radio station, Salt 106.5 is dependent on support from volunteers. Positions such as administrative assistants, data entry personnel, research assistants, promotional assistants, bookkeepers, sponsorship admin, social media specialist, cleaners, receptionist and membership director are some of the vital positions filled by volunteers.

Some of the Volunteer Roles often available:

Social Media Specialist: If you know your way around Facebook and Insta and would like to run the social media side of a fantastic media organisation, then have we got the volunteer spot for you! (You’d have your work cut out for you whipping the on-air team in line to do their daily posts!)

Receptionist: Answer the phones for a few hours/ days a week. Greet people who visit the station. Data Entry.

Bookkeepers: Volunteer for a few hours/ days a week to assist our accountant. (Some experience required)

Data Entry: Copy information from forms into the computer database. Easy Peasy.

Cleaners: A VITAL role at Salt106.5 is to keep the studios and office in tip-top shape. If you know how to use a vacuum cleaner and a dishwasher then YOU are in great demand and will receive the praises of all.

Research Assistant: If you have a knack for sniffing out interesting content from the interwebs, then assisting the on-air team with research might be just your jam.

Promotional: Chat to our listeners to survey their thoughts. Go on location during live outside broadcasts to help bump in/ greet the public/ bump out. Help organise prizes and competitions.

Announcer/Program Proposals: If you have a desire to present a program or have an idea for a program, let us know by selecting the “Submit a program proposal” dropdown on the contact form. Include information about any experience or training you have with presenting, and the type of program you would like to see on Salt 106.5.

Sponsorship Admin: Emailing and phoning potential sponsors, data entry and working with the sponsorship team.

Community Liaison: Regular contact is needed with all community organisations – identify Outside Broadcast opportunities and help with OB’s as a support person.

Membership Director: A dedicated person who will conduct recruitment drives for membership.

NOTE: Centrelink clients over 55 on Newstart should inquire with their provider about the possibility of fullfilling their volunteer hours with Salt106.5
